महाभूकम्पले १७८६६ जना घाइते भएका छन् । तीमध्ये अधिकांश घर फर्कन सकेका छैनन् । अस्पतालकै बेडमा छन् ।
महाभूकम्पले लाखौं घरबारविहीन भएका छन् । महाभूकम्पका चार फोटो यूरोपियन प्रेसफोटो एजेन्सीले प्रकाशन गरेको छ । ती फोटो चर्चित फोटोग्राफर नरेन्द्र श्रेष्ठले खिचेका हुन् ।
